Our neighborhood after the weekend storm.

Another Boring Friday Night

Yago's off to ski tomorrow at Black Mountain's Winter Festival while Luiz is traveling to see a Snoop Dogg concert (Snoop what?). But tonight, they are unhappy and bored... So, a little Ben & Jerry's New York Super Chunk Chocolate Ice Cream, freshly baked Chocolate Chip Cookies, and a tad of whipped cream take the edge off the doldrums.

Neighbor of the Millennium!

With this very heavy snow of late winter, we were blessed by having Gayle come over today to help out with the driveway just as Ben did. And after she fought through our snow mounds, Gayle headed over to The Sullivan's home, our new neighbors, and cleared their driveway, too.

Thanks, Gayle! You're the very best.

Our second no school snow day in a row helped the boys become creative. Luiz searched YouTube to learn "How to Make a Snow Person" (we're working on being politically correct these days). Then, with Yago, they began the journey... from falls to second snowball How-do-we-get-it-up-there? moments... these two Michelangelos of the snowperson-making world labored until... Snow Day... Uncle Ben to the Rescue

Today's snow was very heavy, so the boys begged Ben to bring over his snowblower. He taught Yago how to drive the machine, and saved the boys 90 minutes or more of work. Thanks, Ben!

Snow Day...

Snow day! No school.

Ice Fishing on Webb Lake, Weld (click on photos to enlarge)

Marie and Scott Gauvin and their boys Caleb, Curtis, and Toni (Germany) invited our boys to go ice fishing in Weld where our summer homes are. They also invited Sissel (Denmark) and her sister to the day. This evening they'll all go skiing at Black Mountain of Maine.

Marie has been a great source of fun for the boys this year--she is a wonderful mom and community person. Thanks, Marie! And thanks to Scott for setting up the fishing day!

Friends at the Winter Holidays

We have had an eventful few days. Rich's friend Mary Hart and her family (below) came to visit for an overnight. The Bennett Family came for the Olympics. Today, Willy Bennett (top, right) had a bad fall at the ski area and was taken by helicopter to a city hospital. All the Bennett kids are here and the news about Willy is great! He has a broken bone in his shoulder, but otherwise he is doing well. He may be in the hospital overnight. The kids are watching soccer and soon the Olympics. We're all very happy that Willy is going to be fine. And Lucky, the Bennett's dog, is resting after a busy time.
